Joining the #TBR2019RBR Reading Challenge!

I love Adam’s TBR Reading Challenge every year, even though I have never actually completed it. I enjoy aking the time at the end of December to purposefully choose 14 (12 official, plus 2 alternate) books that have been sitting on my TBR shelf for over a year already and making a plan to read them in the coming year. This year I had to find and unpack my TBR books, but I think I have a pretty good list to work with this year. I have something that is considered childrens, teen, and adult plus fiction and nonfiction. I really don’t care which are alternates – so I’m just listing alphabetically by author’s last name.

My list:

  • Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
  • Crooked House by Agatha Christie
  • Wave by Sonali Deraniyagala
  • Soldier’s Pay by William Faulkner
  • Coraline by Neil Gaiman
  • Waking Up White by Debby Irving
  • Mango-Shaped Space by Wendy Mass
  • The Paris Wife by Paula McLain
  • Sula by Toni Morrison
  • Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy
  • Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter
  • Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
  • Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea by Jules Verne
  • Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson

  1. I wasn’t going to sign up this year but you’ve inspired me to now! I think I only have one book from your list on my shelves to read, Crooked House, but I definitely have to recommend Mansfield Park and Coraline! Both are fantastic. πŸ™‚ Good luck – and I’ve never completed the challenge. Maybe this year?!?

  2. You’ve got some good books on your list! I’ve read Coraline, Waking Up White, The Paris Wife, Sula, and Black Beauty and enjoyed them all (I’ve got conflicting feelings about Waking Up White but it was definitely interesting to read and think about!) I just recently thought I might like to try Pollyanna after I heard someone mention it on a podcast, so I’m curious to hear what you think of it.

  3. You have some great books on your list. I just reviewed 20,000 Leagues, and I absolutely loved Coraline. I’m planning on reading Mansfield Park for another challenge and really excited about that reread. Of course, you can never go wrong with Agatha Christie. Best wishes on all of your reading goals for 2019!
